Pediatric Dermatology
Dr. Hazel Vernon was the first practicing pediatric dermatologist in Central Virginia and has been a part of Commonwealth Dermatology for over 15 years. Recognized by her peers as a Top Doc in Dermatology for 2006 in Richmond Magazine, Dr. Vernon maintains her edge in the field by, among other things, regularly providing training to residents from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine’s Department of Dermatology. Dr. Vernon has given lectures on pediatric dermatology at both regional and national conferences. Current board certifications for Dr. Vernon include the American Board of Dermatology for general dermatology and pediatric dermatology. She was the first physician in the region to earn pediatric dermatology board certification status.
